Traces: A Canadian Journal of Christian Arts & Letters

“First Snow, Cache River” By Maurice Cullen, 1924

Mission Statement

Traces Journal is a Canadian literary arts journal. We are dedicated to promoting arts and letters engaging with the Christian tradition. We publish poetry and prose that seek traces of the divine in our midst.

Traces values art that draws on the richness of inherited forms and traditions, as well as art that struggles within and against these inheritances. We seek to provide a place for artists who, like Emily Carr, attend to the “growth, the surging upward, this expansion, the pulsing life” we encounter on this shared land and feel “the same urge to express the God in themselves—life, life, life, which is God, for without Him there is no life.”

Publication Summary

Traces Journal publishes work written in English. We are open to submissions in other languages if an English translation can be arranged.
